POC Workshop on Trends in Optoelectronics and Communications

POC Workshop on Trends in Optoelectronics and Communications

Description:

Currently, optoelectronics and communication technologies are undergoing profound transformation. The explosive growth of AI computing power, the surge in data center bandwidth, and the stringent requirements of 6G for ultra-low latency are pushing traditional electronic technologies to the limits of power consumption and manufacturing processes. In parallel, the convergence of optical networks with quantum security and advanced photonic sensing is redefining the boundaries of information infrastructure.

Optoelectronic technologies—ranging from silicon photonics integration and co-packaged optoelectronics (CPO) to advanced digital signal processing, quantum key distribution, and integrated sensing-communication (ISAC)—have become key breakthroughs. Optical communication is leaping from a basic data carrier to a foundational pillar for secure, intelligent global connectivity, bringing unprecedented innovation opportunities to academia and industry.

Progress in Optoelectronics and Communications (POC) covers cutting-edge research and innovations across the entire ecosystem of light-based technologies. The workshop and journal emphasize high-speed systems (terabit-class), coherent optics, SDN/NFV control, and vital emerging paradigms including quantum communications, quantum cryptography, integrated sensing-communication (ISAC), and AI-optimized networks. It addresses critical challenges in capacity, latency, energy efficiency, security, and scalability—from component design to field deployment.

This workshop provides a high-level academic exchange platform for scholars, engineers, and industry experts in the field of optoelectronics and communications to conduct in-depth discussions on dynamic cutting-edge topics and promote collaborative innovation between industry, academia, and research. Discussions will broadly center on silicon photonics integration and optoelectronic co-packaging technology, high-speed optical transmission, quantum communications and photonic quantum information processing, integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) alongside advanced optical sensing applications, AI-optimized optical networks, and novel optoelectronic devices.
